Cheat Mode

When the PRESS START icon is showing on the screen hold Select and tap Square, Triangle, Circle, Triangle, Triangle, Square, Circle. If you did it right, then you should hear a sound of an explosion. Then start a game, press Start and Select and the cheat menu will appear. Tap L1 to start game again.

Extra Life (Original Asteroids)

Press start and tap Up, Down, Left, Right, Circle, square, X, and Triangle.

99 Lives (Original Asteroids)

Press start and tap Up, X, Down, Triangle, Left, Square, Right and Circle.

Excalibur Ship

Do the same as above, except hold Select and enter Triangle, Circle, Circle, Triangle, Square, Circle, Square. The same effect will happen, and you will be able to fly the Excalibur Ship.

Invincibility (Original Asteroids)

Press start and tap Down, Down, Up, Up, Circle, Square, Triangle, and Triangle.

Play original Asteroids

Same as above except hold Select and enter Circle, Circle, Circle, Triangle, Square, Square, and Circle. You should hear the sound again, and hit start to see the Asteroids mode open.
